On the Trail of the Great Predators

World Nature Conservation Day

On the occasion of World Nature Conservation Day, the Educational Center of Parco Pallavicino will host a meeting dedicated to Italy’s large terrestrial predators, key players in the balance of natural ecosystems. The activity will be led by the Park’s biologist, who will guide children and families in discovering the predators found across the country, exploring their characteristics, behavior, and adaptations. Through a clear and engaging presentation, participants will learn about the ecological role of these animals—essential for maintaining biodiversity—and the main challenges linked to their conservation, from coexistence with humans to the protection of natural habitats. Afterwards, participants will be able to observe specimens and photographs, useful tools for better understanding the anatomy, tracks, and habits of these species, and for learning to overcome fears and prejudices often associated with large predators. An opportunity to get to know these extraordinary animals more closely and to understand why protecting them means protecting the entire ecosystem.
