18 hectares of park where the botanical and wildlife spirits coexist in harmony.
Villa Pallavicino was founded as a private residence in 1855. This was followed in 1862 by the acquisition by the noble Genoese Pallavicino family, who enlarged the estate, built carriage roads, adorned the park with statues and transformed the simple residence into the splendid 19th-century villa in neoclassical style that still stands on the hill today. The Borromeo management began in 2017, the year in which a series of restoration and improvement works were started on the animal areas as well as the tree-lined avenues.
An area strongly desired to make possible a true, playful but also educational encounter in respect and trust between human and animal being.
The great wonder of this park are the trees: the centuries-old chestnuts and giant lyriodendrons, among the oldest in Italy, the red beeches, maples, larches, ginkgo bilobas, sequoias and magnolias.
Here, Tibetan and hopping goats, sheep, llamas, alpacas and fallow deer live free, seeking a caress from visitors, especially the youngest. An area strongly desired to make possible a true, playful but also educational encounter in respect and trust between human and animal being.
