Curiosity
At least 4 coat colorations can be recognized, resulting from selective breeding: spotted, isabella, white and melanistic. Like all cervids, the fallow deer sheds its antlers in April-May. Between August and September it cleans its antlers against trees, leaving characteristic marks on the bark. At the end of this process begins the mating season with fights between males that can also pose a danger to humans. The weight of females varies from 40 to 60 kg while that of males varies from 70 to 80 kg but they can reach and exceed 100 kg.
