Native to Val Gerola, in the province of Sondrio

Curiosity

The female is about 73 cm tall and weighs 65 kg. The male is 79 cm tall and weighs about 80 kg. The most characteristic coat patterns are the "farinel" (cream, grey and beige) and the "marin" (pied). Historical archives from the 1800s report that Orobica goats were annually driven in transhumance to Milan to provide fresh milk to patients in hospitals.
